mentoring programme 2015

Programmes

The Fashion Council Germany aspires to change the international perception of German fashion. It plays a vital role in improving the international visibility and competitiveness of Germany’s young designers through its various development programmes, coaching sessions and workshops.

Talents

The Fashion Council Germany and its members support creative young designers through workshops, coaching and mentoring programmes. Details on the application process will be announced soon.

In September 2015, the Fashion Council Germany launched a mentoring programme in cooperation with the Berlin Senate Department for Economics, Technology and Research (Berliner Senatsverwaltung für Wirtschaft, Technologie und Forschung).

Marina Hoermanseder and Nobi Talai are the first two mentees to benefit from the guidance and support of Claudia Hofmann.

As part of the programme, the participants are mentored by industry experts in numerous workshops. They are also invited to the ‘Berliner Mode Salon’ group exhibition on 30 September in Paris.

Mentees 2015

Nobi Talai

Designer Nobieh Talaei interprets traditional elements of Near Eastern culture in today's modern world.

She uses clear, withdrawn lines, wide, flowing fabrics and plays with voluminous winding techniques to form a look that reinvents the modern nomad. The Nobi Talai label combines Persian traditions with modern design to create a minimalist style.

Marina Hoermanseder

In her collection, Marina Hoermanseder combines a progressive cut with fetish elements. She experiments with stark contrasts and plays with the beauty of the unconventional.

With her experimental designs she creates an interplay between avant-garde and ready-to-wear fashion, culminating in a unique extravagant style.

fellowship programme 2016

In addition to these efforts, the Fashion Council Germany is currently working on a Fellowship Programme for the most talented up-and-coming designers in Germany.

For 2016, the programme is hoping to provide continuous, personalised support through its mentor network of Council members and partners. The winners will be chosen through an open application process.

In intensive group and individual coaching sessions, designers learn how to formulate a viable business plan, develop a saleable collection and, finally, put together the perfect show.
