After Fashion Week comes Fashion Week – apply now and present your work! We are looking for designers who want to showcase their collections during Berlin Fashion Week in July 2026. After the winter season once again received major international acclaim (to quote Forbes Magazine: “There was nowhere else to be on those four frozen nights than in Berlin!”), Fashion Council Germany (FCG) and the Berlin Senate Department for Economic Affairs, Energy and Public Enterprises are launching concept competitions for the realization of the Fashion Week for SS27 as well.
Designers can apply for funding of up to €25,000 until March 23. For the eighth time, FCG and the State of Berlin are thus providing targeted support for outstanding design achievements and creative presentation ideas. New this season is an even stronger focus on the sustainable alignment of submitted concepts: following a pilot phase, the “Sustainability Requirements” will come fully into effect in July.
In the future, only presentations by brands that meet the minimum standards defined in these regulations can become an official part of Berlin Fashion Week. By committing to these provisions — which for example include increased use of more sustainable materials and the assurance of fair corporate structures — Berlin Fashion Week lives up to its guiding theme: “The responsible movement of freedom, inclusion and creativity.”
As in previous seasons, the competition in the categories BERLIN CONTEMPORARY and STUDIO2RETAIL for Fashion Week from July 2–5, 2026, will be co-financed by the State of Berlin and the European Regional Development Fund as part of the “Projekt Zukunft” initiative.

BERLIN CONTEMPORARY (BC)
Nineteen runway and presentation concepts will be awarded funding of €25,000 each. An independent jury of international industry experts will base its decision not only on the submitted concept but also on the brand’s development potential. The jury’s focus includes design excellence, craftsmanship, sustainability, diversity, and economic viability. In addition to submissions from Germany, up to five concepts from international brands will be considered this season. One award is reserved for a label headquartered in an African country. This label will also receive additional support services related to production, guest management, and press work to help realize a runway show.

STUDIO2RETAIL (S2R)
Six event concepts that actively involve end consumers will each receive €5,000 in funding. Showroom, pop-up, or exhibition formats will be evaluated by the jury based on their sustainable approach, potential media impact, and innovative and inclusive character. The overarching goal of this category is to make Berlin Fashion Week accessible to a broader public beyond the runways. Five concepts will be funded by the State of Berlin and the European Regional Development Fund; a sixth award will once again be provided by Berliner Sparkasse.
After the application deadline on March 23, the jury will select the winners. The funded concepts are expected to be announced on April 20, 2026. Further information and applications: fashionweek.berlin
