ABOUT THE INITIATIVE
Bringing different generations together to promote a sustainable fashion industry - is the goal of our Fashion Future conference in partnership with The King's Foundation.
The FASHION FUTURE conference takes place annually at the historic Dumfries House in Scotland. With various workshops, panel discussions, and guest lectures, the nearly 100 participants from Germany and the UK explore current topics in the fashion industry. The aim is to foster interactive exchange and intergenerational learning, as well as to open up new perspectives. The focus is particularly on school pupils, students, and start-ups.
In 2022, together with The King's Foundation, formerly The Prince's Foundation and UK-German-Connection, we hosted the FASHION FUTURE conference under the motto "Field, Farm and Fashion".
In 2023, the conference, themed "Disruption," was held in cooperation with eBay, The PVH Foundation, and TENCEL™. Participants gained exclusive insights from leading industry experts and pioneers in the fashion sector. The aim of the stimulating discussions was to find sustainable and innovative solutions that would further drive the transformation of the industry.
In 2024, the conference was once again held in cooperation with The King's Foundation and eBay Germany on October 29th. Under the motto "PUSHING Boundaries," industry representatives and over 130 students from Germany and the United Kingdom met to participate in workshops, panel discussions, and guest lectures. Topics covered included craftsmanship, technology, diversity, and circular fashion. Twenty-four selected students from the GENERATION FUTURE project, which the FCG is implementing in partnership with The PVH Foundation for the second year, were also able to attend. In addition, six young designers from the FCG's FASHION X CRAFT project participated in the conference.
The next edition of the conference will take place on November 4, 2025, once again in cooperation with The King's Foundation and eBay Germany, under the motto "Crafting & Consuming Tomorrow." This upcoming edition will again bring together industry representatives, participants of the GENERATION ZUKUNFT project, and young designers from FASHION X CRAFT, with the aim of jointly developing new perspectives for the fashion of tomorrow.
