The Pre-Loved Exhibition is curated by Christian Stemmler. Selected vintage and second-hand pieces meet contemporary design. Curated by Christian Stemmler, eBay's Pre-Loved Exhibition shows how creative and trend-setting circular fashion can be. It is part of the new RAUM.Berlin format, initiated by the Fashion Council Germany for Berlin Fashion Week. In his curatorial work, Stemmler combines experience with a keen sense of style and zeitgeist. Influenced by the Berlin underground scene of the 1990s and early access to second-hand fashion, he continues to pursue a thoughtful, sustainable approach to clothing. For him, pre-loved fashion is an expression of individuality, beyond origin, status or trends. This approach captures the spirit of the times. Awareness of a more sustainable approach to fashion is growing, especially among the younger generation. Many are turning to platforms such as eBay, sending a clear signal against short-lived consumption patterns. The trend towards archive fashion and the rediscovery of past collections highlight the creative and cultural potential of existing clothing. RAUM.Berlin is picking up on this trend and making it the central theme of an innovative exhibition concept. The new format from the Fashion Council Germany stands for creative synergies between design, craftsmanship and sustainable thinking. The Pre-Loved Exhibition is not only a curatorial statement, but also an invitation to rethink fashion in a conscious, stylish and forward-looking way. MORE COMING SOON

We as Fashion Council Germany establish special training programs in these areas Sustainability, fashion technology and community building. We also organize various events that promote dialogue and networking. A detailed list of our projects can be found under Initiatives. About What is the mission of the FCG? Our work aims to promote the industry and create optimal conditions for further development. The Fashion Council Germany e.V. is a registered association with the aim of promoting and promoting German fashion at home and abroad. We carry out political lobbying work at state, federal and EU level. With all of its initiatives, the FCG pursues the goal of further establishing, supporting and strengthening German fashion design as a cultural and economic asset at national and international level. About Does the FCG only operate in Berlin? No. Our office is based in Berlin (details under contact) but our work extends throughout Germany. Due to Germany's federal political structure, it is difficult to set up nationwide programs, which sometimes leads to local limitations in projects. Part of our work is to change this in the future. In 2023 we opened our first branch LOCAL ONE in Mannheim. This is particularly responsible for local member support and regional political lobbying in the federal states of Baden-Württemberg, Hesse and Rhineland-Palatinate. In addition, LOCAL ONE implements events in the region in close cooperation with the Berlin location. Additional locations in the North, East, West and South regions are being planned for the coming years in order to provide personal coverage across Germany. About How can I find out about FCG topics? In addition to our website, we provide news, event announcements and information about our members, projects and competitions in our FCG newsletter. The newsletter is sent out monthly and supplemented by special newsletters as required. Membership Who can become a member of the FCG? - Sustainability Requirements | FashionCouncil
Sustainability Requirements Berlin Fashion Week implements the sustainability requirements of Copenhagen Fashion Week As the coordinator of Berlin Fashion Week, the Fashion Council Germany announced in summer 2024 that the Sustainability Requirements of Copenhagen Fashion Week will also be introduced for its Berlin counterpart in future. With the partnership between the two institutions and the establishment of the Sustainability Requirements developed by the CPHFW, the Fashion Council Germany is committed to introducing the so-called Minimum Standards as a binding criterion for the shows of Berlin Fashion Week. By joining forces, both locations are pursuing the goal of promoting sustainability measures in the fashion industry on the Nordic and German markets. Supported by the Berlin Senate Department for Economics, Energy and Public Enterprises and implemented by the Fashion Council Germany in cooperation with Studio MM04, this is a further step for BFW on the way to becoming a transparently responsible fashion platform. The collaboration includes the implementation of the Sustainability Requirements for around 35 labels that are part of the official calendar of Berlin Fashion Week and for which the Minimum Standards will be introduced as a binding criterion. The implementation is now taking place in an introductory and pilot phase before it comes fully into force in February 2026. Background The Sustainability Requirements were introduced by Copenhagen Fashion Week in January 2020 in close cooperation with In Futurum and Dansk Fashion & Textile. They were updated in March 2024 to respond to industry developments and changes in the EU policy landscape. The framework is an integral part of the CPHFW sustainability strategy and has been reviewed by its Advisory Board and an international panel of experts. The overarching goal is to drive holistic change in the fashion industry. Since its introduction, Denmark's largest fashion fairs have adapted the implementation of the Sustainability Requirements. Specific Adaptations In addition to the existing Sustainability Requirements guidelines, BFW will make specific adjustments and introduce some new elements that are in line with BFW's values. As stated in its own slogan, BFW embodies freedom, inclusion and creativity. Therefore, the specific adjustments address the key themes of Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging (DEIB) across the fashion industry, which are essential to BFW. In addition, the focus is on transparency and traceability throughout the value chain, an important topic in Germany, especially in view of the Supply Chain Act. Further information on the specific adjustments will be published on the BFW website at a later date.
