Fashion Council Germany launched an educational program in 2022 with its partner, The PVH Foundation and PVH Corp. [NYSE: PVH], which is exclusively dedicated to educating German students with an average age of 15. The “Generation Future” educational project aims to promote young people’s understanding of social equality and diversity, with particular attention to the effects of the fashion industry. The common goal of the Fashion Council Germany and The PVH Foundation is to diversify the industry by primarily supporting disadvantaged youth groups in our society who are confronted with social exclusion and hardships.
“Generation Future” is entering its second round this fall and will once again visit students in at least 16 different schools this year, with a focus on German regions with a high proportion of diversity. With the support of educational experts, the Fashion Council Germany team will primarily consider secondary schools and comprehensive schools. The educational content will focus on the social and environmental impact of the fashion industry, as well as its training and career opportunities, in order to attract new innovations and talent while raising awareness of the issues facing the industry.
A total of three visits are planned per school to give the students insights into various topics and questions. Each school lesson is dedicated to a focus, which is accompanied by additional webinars through which you can expand your knowledge. During the school year, students are asked to take part in tests. The 24 pupils with the best results will be invited to take part in the Fashion Council Germany's annual conference FASHION FUTURE in collaboration with The King's Foundation at Dumfries House in Scotland to share their knowledge of the fashion industry consolidate and exchange ideas.
The 24 pupils of the first and second round took part in workshops at Dumfries House and the FASHION FUTURE conference in November 2023 & 2024. In November 2025, the 48 best students will take part in the third edition of the FASHION FUTURE conference.
The Generation Zukunft project started its fourth round in the 2025/2026 school year. The goal is to build on the success of the first three years and reach even more pupils. Education about the fashion industry and the expansion of knowledge continue to form the cornerstone of the project.
