Berlin, January 13, 2025: The Fashion Council Germany is once again demonstrating its commitment to promoting more sustainable and creative fashion this year. Together with the online marketplace eBay, five Berlin-based fashion labels will receive support. The goal of this Circularity Support initiative is to promote innovative approaches and raise awareness of the circular economy within the fashion industry. The following five fashion labels have been selected: BALLETSHOFER , Haderlump Atelier Berlin , Lou de Bètoly , Natascha von Hirschhausen , and Sia Arnika .
The collaboration focuses on the theme of circularity. The five labels each create two looks, comprised of upcycled materials and pre-loved garments sourced through the online marketplace eBay. The creations combine the designers' signature style with a clear focus on sustainability and recycling, thus underscoring the importance of responsible fashion. Following Berlin Fashion Week, the resulting looks will be available on eBay. This gives consumers the opportunity to purchase unique pieces directly from the runway while actively supporting emerging talent in the industry.
“ With eBay, we have a partner at our side who shares the idea of circularity and supports the implementation of more sustainable concepts ,” says Scott Lipinski, CEO of the Fashion Council Germany. “ This collaboration shows how creativity, innovation, and sustainability in fashion can harmonize and shape the industry in a pioneering way.”
Tanja Vojkic, Category Lead Fashion at eBay Germany, adds: “Our partnership with the Fashion Council Germany demonstrates how eBay, as a marketplace, can amplify the impact of circularity in the fashion industry. We want to support designers who combine aesthetics and recycling in an inspiring way and contribute to further establishing sustainable fashion through our reach and infrastructure. This initiative sends a clear signal that style and responsibility can go hand in hand.”
The initiative underscores the joint commitment of the Fashion Council Germany and eBay to strengthen more sustainable alternatives in fashion and further promote the circular economy concept within the industry. The individual styles of the five talented designers are the focus, setting an example for a more conscious, future-oriented fashion world.
