Fashion Council Germany

Berlin, 13 February 2025: From 31 January to 3 February 2025, the Fashion Council Germany (FCG), in collaboration with eBay Germany, hosted the second edition of the talk format ‘METAMORPHOSIS – dialogues about change’ powered by eBay at NIO House Berlin. Following its successful debut at Berlin Fashion Week last July, the event returned with an even more diverse programme. Recordings of the talks and presentations are now available on demand on the METAMORPHOSIS website. More than 600 participants and around 60 international experts from the fashion industry gathered at NIO House in Berlin to discuss issues ranging from (fashion) design, artificial intelligence, sustainability and circularity. The participants, including designers, industry experts, students and young professionals, contributed their diverse perspectives and innovative ideas to jointly shape the future of fashion and create spaces for discussion.

The event offered an extensive programme of keynotes, panels and interviews. It began with intensive discussions on the current challenges and opportunities facing the fashion industry in terms of sustainability and the circular economy. The subsequent keynotes and panels addressed topics such as sustainable materials and the importance of creating long-lasting brands. The second day focused on technological innovations and new business models. In conversation with Michele Casucci (Certilogo), the potential of digital product passports (DPPs) was highlighted. A visionary panel brought together leading minds from Paris, Milan and Berlin, including Pascal Morand (Executive President, Fédération de la Haute Couture et de la Mode), Carlo Capasa (Chairman, Camera Nazionale della Moda Italiana), Christiane Arp and Scott Lipinski (both FCG). Together, they outlined a future in which global fashion centres create a more sustainable and inclusive fashion ecosystem through innovative approaches and mutual inspiration. Creativity and visionary approaches characterised the discussions on the third day. A particular highlight was the inspiring exchange between Michael Philouze, Men's Editor at Vogue US, and Hanan Besovic from @ideservecouture, who discussed how creativity and values could redefine the fashion world in 2025. The final day was devoted to consumer expectations and the question of how brands can build authentic connections.

Speakers included Ann Claes (MASJIEN) as content director, Ashley Krupnik (WGSN), Emma Vloeimans (TRIBUTE TO MAGAZINE), Cecilie Thorsmark (Copenhagen Fashion Week), Joshua Graham (SHOWstudio), Julian Daynov (Bureau), Maliha Shoaib (Vogue Business), Mandy Krüger (eBay Germany) and Philipp Fromme (NIO Germany).

In the evening, the experts continued their discussions in an intimate atmosphere. The restaurants Bonvivant, Österelli, 963 Berlin and THE CORAL served as hosts. They not only offered culinary highlights, but also provided an opportunity to exchange ideas and develop visions for future projects together.

For those who were unable to watch the panels, interviews and keynotes live, they are now available on the METAMORPHOSIS talk format website HERE.
