NEWS: Berlin Fashion X International: Internationalisation project enters the next round

Berlin, 26 August 2024: Fashion Council Germany's internationalization project is entering the next round. With immediate effect, the Fashion Forward Network initiative will be continued as Berlin Fashion X International and expanded to the Asian market. In addition to an annual delegation trip to New York City (USA), the Fashion Council Germany will now also visit the Asian market and specifically the city of Seoul (South Korea) with the support of the Berlin Senate Department for Economics, Energy and Public Enterprises. Both delegations will be accompanied by workshops, presentations and networking formats. The overarching goal of supporting Berlin companies in their market entry into international markets and providing them with relevant and forward-looking business contacts remains an integral part of the initiative. With the expansion to the Asian market, the Fashion Council Germany is taking an important step towards internationalization.
During the past two delegation trips to New York City, the participating brands have already gained in-depth insights into the US market. In April 2024, the twelve fashion brands and tech start-ups AVENIR, DR. BAUM, IMPARI, HADERLUMP, Kasia Kucharska, Natascha von Hirschhausen, PLATTE Berlin, SANE Standard, SF1OG, SOCIÉTÉ ANGELIQUE, REFRAMD and RICHERT BEIL also received strategic market entry recommendations in addition to sales and communication workshops. They were brought together with local stakeholders, press representatives and industry experts in various program items and were thus able to make important international contacts.
Following the respective delegation trips, the focus will continue to be on proactive networking between the players. The Fashion Council Germany will be on hand to advise all project participants and support them in developing and expanding business collaborations. Regular webinars will provide further input on important topics relating to international markets.
The next delegation trip to New York City (USA) from October 20 to 25, 2024 is already planned, consisting mainly of Berlin-based companies. Interested (Berlin) fashion brands and fashion tech start-ups can apply for participation until September 13, 2024.
Berlin Fashion X International is funded by a state program, which is financed by ERDF funds and funds from the state of Berlin.
