Metamorphosis – dialogues about change: in partnership with Vogue Business, eBay Germany and Cupra.


To At Berlin Fashion Week in July 2024, in partnership with Vogue Business and eBay Germany, we will be hosting the talk format METAMORPHOSIS – dialogues about change powered by eBay for the first time.


From July 2nd to 4th, national and international experts from the fashion industry and the circular economy will gather at the CUPRA City Garage in Berlin Mitte to discuss the various facets and necessary changes within the sector. Over the three days of the event, the overarching theme of circularity will be examined from different perspectives.


Design , Technology & Innovation and Community .


Over 30 renowned industry experts will discuss these topics in six different panel talks, providing impetus for a subsequent audience discussion. Under the motto "METAMORPHOSIS – dialogues about change," the talk format aims to highlight the various facets and essential transformations of the industry, create spaces for discussion on current topics, and thus promote exchange within the sector.


The first day was entirely dedicated to the theme of DESIGN.


Jasmien Wynants (Co-Founder I MASJIEN) opened the day with a keynote speech - An introduction to circularity.

 

Panel 1: "Crafting Love: Designing for Circular Fashion and Garment Longevity"

Speakers: Kirsty McGregor (Executive European Editor | Vogue Business), Dilys Williams (Founder & Director | Center for Sustainable Fashion), Julia Ballardt (Co-Founder & Designer | Milk of Lime), Nina Knaudt (Co-Founder & Managing Director | RIANNA + NINA) and Thakane Bazill (Fashion Technologist, Consultant in Sustainability and advocate for Fashion justice in Global South).

 

 

Panel 2: "Beyond Good Intentions: Navigating Global Human Rights in Design and Supply Chains"

Speakers: Maliha Shoaib (Reporter I Vogue Business), Carina Bischof (Co-Founder & Chairwoman | Fashion Revolution Germany), Liz Ricketts (Co-Founder & Executive Director I The Or Foundation), Sarah Blank (Consultant I Löning – Human Rights & Responsible Business) and Sarah Ditty (Senior Program Manager I Laudes Foundation).

 

Between the panels, there was a networking break during which attendees could exchange ideas with the speakers. Gragger provided the catering, and we would like to thank Elephant Bay, Carlsberg, and Vöslauer for the drinks.

 

An exciting first day full of stimulating discussions and networking is behind us, we look forward to the next 2 days of Metamorphosis – dialogues about change .
