For the fifth time, we are awarding prizes in cooperation with the Senate Department for Economics, Energy and Public Enterprises to show and presentation concepts in the "Berlin Contemporary" category and to B2C events in the "STUDIO2RETAIL" category. For the first time this season, African fashion labels were also eligible to apply in the "Berlin Contemporary" category. From a total of 91 submissions, 19 concepts, including one from Ukraine and one from Ghana, were awarded €25,000. The winners will now present their collections at the upcoming Berlin Fashion Week from January 31 to February 3, 2025.
The Berlin Contemporary winners are:
Andrej Gronau, AVENIR, Clara Colette Miramon, COLRS, GmbH, Haderlump, HORROR VACUI, Laura Gerte, Lueder, Lou de Betoly, Marke, Odeeh, PALMWINE IceCREAM (Ghana), PLNGNS, (Ukraine), Richert Beil, SF1OG, Sia Arnika, SVEASØN & William Fan.
In the "STUDIO2RETAIL" category, six B2C event concepts impressed the judges and will each receive a prize of €5,000. The sixth prize is funded by Berliner Sparkasse.
The Studio2Retail winners are:
Balletshofer, Buki Akomolafe & EMEKA Suits, H6, Kitschy Couture, MAHORDE & Ottolinger.
The concepts in both categories were evaluated and selected by an international jury. Evaluation criteria included design performance, marketability, media impact, and the innovative factor of the respective brand and concept.
