As part of the FCG FIRESIDE DINNERS in Hamburg, an upcycling workshop was held on October 10th under the guidance of Isabelle Mann, founder and designer of the Hamburg-based label faible and failure. In the studio of the FABRIC Future Fashion Lab, a project of the Hamburg Kreativ Gesellschaft, the participants learned how to crochet handbags from recycled silk fabrics.

Isabelle Mann, founder of faible and failure, emphasized: The workshops, be it hand knitting, machine knitting, the Knit Club or, most recently, the crochet course as part of the Fireside Dinner with the Fashion Council, are an essential part of the brand identity of faible and failure. The proximity to craftsmanship not only keeps the latter alive but also conveys the complexity of the value chain in the fashion industry. In the workshop we worked with recycled silk to close the chain in a cycle.

At FABRIC, a place for sustainable fashion in Hamburg where designers, fashion labels and companies meet to design and shape the future of the fashion world, participants from various areas of the fashion industry came together to crochet and exchange ideas.

We would like to thank Isabelle for the workshop!
