The call for applications for the FASHION X CRAFT funding program from the Fashion Council Germany in partnership with the Swarovski Foundation and The Prince's Foundation is now open to applicants. This means that the educational program of the three initiators for sustainable development is entering its third round after two successful years. From now until December 6, 2023, graduates from the field of fashion and textile design with a focus on sustainability can apply for the program. The six winners will be presented to the public at the upcoming Berlin Fashion Week from February 5 to 8, 2024, as well as their predecessors, as part of the Berlin Salon.

As in the first two years, the young designers will benefit from several months of workshops, webinars and coaching by and with international experts. This will enable them to further develop their design processes towards sustainability. Among other things, they will be trained in various crafts such as basket weaving, decorative plasterwork and traditional woodwork during a three-week stay in the summer of 2024 at The Prince's Foundation's Highgrove Gardens educational facility in Gloucestershire, England. Highgrove Gardens is a popular visitor attraction managed by the charity.

REQUIREMENTS:

The offer is aimed exclusively at fashion and textile design graduates who graduated no more than one year ago. Applicants must be committed to actively shaping and transforming the future of the fashion industry and be based in Germany during the project phase. The basic requirement is an interest in sustainability, craftsmanship and innovation.

APPLICATION:

Applicants have seven weeks to submit their application and can submit it from now until Wednesday, December 6, 2023, 11:59 p.m. via the following page on our website: LINK!

The application should include a video of at least two to a maximum of three minutes in which the motivation for participation is clearly explained and the personal importance of sustainability, craftsmanship and innovation for the applicant is presented.
