In mid-November, the Fashion Council Germany opened the FCG TEMP STUDIO in Mannheim's city center district, Q6 Q7. With this project and localONE, the first branch outside Berlin opened in Mannheim in the spring, the FCG aims to intensify its nationwide outreach. Through the FUTURAUM project, which supports the creative temporary use of vacant retail spaces in Mannheim's city center, the FCG, in cooperation with TEXTILEREI / NEXT MANNHEIM, has now created an opportunity to offer FCG members a showcase space in southern Germany. The space will host a temporary exhibition of local members from Mannheim and the surrounding area until December 23, 2023. The program is complemented by workshops, lectures, and informational displays from participating members and partners.

The following members are represented in the FCG TEMP STUDIO with key pieces from their collections: Anna Auras , Belle Ikat , Claire Common , F65.0 , Florenz , Goldmarlen , Isabella Asfour , Julia Jung , Limo , Meriem Lebdiri , and my little Bukhara . The walk-through pop-up exhibition is open during the shopping center's regular opening hours. Works by Mannheim fashion photographer Christian Borth and Mannheim graphic artist Hony are also on display in the FCG TEMP STUDIO.

In addition, participating designers were given the opportunity to host lectures, workshops, and networking events, offering interested visitors targeted information on relevant topics such as sustainability, inclusion, and professional development. This week also sees information days about the GENERATION FUTURE educational project of the FCG in partnership with The PVH Foundation. Teachers from the Mannheim region and surrounding areas will have the unique opportunity to learn more about this initiative, which educates students about the fashion industry and opens up new educational opportunities.

• Tuesday, December 12, 2023 to Thursday, December 14, 2023, from 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM each day: Information days about the GENERATION FUTURE education project by FCG and The PVH Foundation

• Friday, December 15, 2023 , from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM: Launch Event & Get-Together with FLORENZ

• Monday, December 18, 2023 , from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM: " Fuck-up Night & Networking " by and with all members, including My Little Bukhara

The events are open to anyone interested - no prior registration is necessary.

This interim use activity is initiated by STARTRAUM - NEXT Mannheim; Cultural Urban Development and Cultural and Creative Industries and takes place within the framework of the FutuRaum Mannheim project, which is financed by funds from the funding program "Sustainable Inner Cities and Centers" of the Federal Institute for Research on Building, Urban Affairs and Spatial Development (BBSR).
