Exploring creative boundaries, discovering new forms: What already characterizes the design work of fashion designers takes on an expanded meaning at RAUM.Berlin . We invite designers to present their collections in an unexpected context – dissolving the boundaries between traditional fashion show and interactive installation, and finding their own forms of presentation. Following the first edition in July 2025, the Fashion Council Germany's format has now been conceived as a competition for the first time and is supported by the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy.
“ RAUM.Berlin is exactly what we need: new, progressive presentation formats that showcase young, innovative fashion from Germany. Our ministry supports this competition to promote talented up-and-coming designers and labels. We want to pave the way for their enormous creativity – to market access, profitability, and greater international visibility,” said Gitta Connemann, Parliamentary State Secretary at the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy.
The winning labels Clara Colette Miramon , Esther Perbandt , Lueder , MAXIMILIAN GEDRA , Michael Sontag , PANOS GOTSIS , Ritual Unions , Selva Huygens , Sex & Jeans , Sezgin , SVEASØN and Ultravantgarde x Hungry will present their collections during Berlin Fashion Week from January 30 to February 2, 2026, in the form of genre-crossing fashion installations. The focus will be solely on their visions.
The participants were selected by Christiane Arp (Chairwoman, Fashion Council Germany), Josepha Rodríguez (stylist), Scott Lipinski (CEO, Fashion Council Germany), and Sevil Uguz (CEO, 0049x). The expert jury opted for an exceptionally diverse lineup: from established designers like Esther Perbandt and Michael Sontag to ambitious up-and-coming talents like Clara Colette Miramon and Selva Huygens; from the life-affirming bursts of color by the brand SVEASØN to the dark visions of Maximilian Gedra, Panos Gotsis' elegant silhouettes, and Marie Lueder's techno-inspired collections; from the casual designs of Sezgin and Sex & Jeans to the artistic creations of Ritual Unions and Ultravantgarde x Hungry – a comprehensive picture of contemporary fashion in and from Germany emerges.
Through installations, performances, and other interactive elements, they will showcase their collections in a centrally located venue at Potsdamer Platz: The light-filled, gallery-like spaces at Eichhornstraße 3 offer ample room for three labels each day of the four-day event to present their unique vision of a contemporary fashion show. RAUM.Berlin will be open to the international trade audience of Berlin Fashion Week each day, followed by the general public. This allows the brands to engage directly with representatives from international media and stores, as well as with potential end consumers – a concept that bridges the gap between creativity and economic viability.
RAUM.Berlin takes place from January 30th to February 2nd at Eichhornstraße 3, 10785 Berlin; details of the individual event days will be announced shortly and listed in the official Berlin Fashion Week calendar.
