Nina Klein Artistmanagement is celebrating its 25th anniversary this year.

Nina Klein Artist Management - For 25 years, Nina Klein and her team have been successfully managing and connecting stylists and hair & make-up artists for high-caliber photo productions in the fashion and beauty industry.

With a new unit, Content Creation , they are expanding the expertise of their artists for content productions, focusing on street styles, OOTD, GRWM and tutorials as well as master classes in various areas.

For over 10 years, Nina Klein has also worked as a business coach , advising creatives, entrepreneurs, and executives in the creative industries. She is the author of a coaching book, "Awareness is Fire," in which she presents readers with 20 key insights in comic form, designed to continually rekindle their inner fire.

Their threefold recipe for success: always finding the right balance between continuity, creativity and further development, and thus living transformation as a general attitude.

We spoke with Nina about her agency, her secret to success, and the importance of styling and expert knowledge for brands:

1) You are celebrating your 25th anniversary this year. How do you manage to constantly renew your business model and remain successful and innovative without losing your identity?

For me, creativity and continuous development are paramount. Especially in the fashion industry, it's crucial to be able to constantly question the status quo and be open to constant innovation. However, one's own signature style should always be a consistent thread running through all stages of development. The key elements of brand building are just as important for service providers and artists as they are for fashion and beauty brands.

2) What were/are your most important milestones of the last 25 years?

Over the past 25 years, I've established a new location or developed a new business unit every five years. Constantly starting from scratch has always kept me from falling into a rut and developing tunnel vision, thus enabling me to achieve further breakthroughs in the industry. So, each phase of new beginnings has been a milestone in its own right.

3) You have founded two new units in recent years, CREATIVE LAB and CONTENT CREATION, and have already successfully launched them on the market. How has this changed your business?

With content creation, we can leverage the expertise of our stylists and makeup artists to build a wonderful bridge to end consumers. The focus of our content production is on social media. Tutorials and expert tips are now indispensable for beauty brands on their Instagram feeds.

At fashion brands, our stylists can apply their expertise in the production of editorial content and, of course, the popular street styles/OOTD/GRWM formats.

Unlike campaigns and lookbook shoots, in the area of content creation we primarily design productions for the various applications of end consumers. In some cases, our experts also appear in front of the camera themselves; otherwise, they act as creative directors.

The concepts are either developed from within the team or we bring in suitable creative directors who, for example, develop editorial plans and implement the production.

4) At Nina Klein, you aim for a holistic styling concept including consulting. How important is it for brands to trust your expertise beyond just the styling service itself ?

Our artists are increasingly being brought in as consultants and creative directors at various stages. They advise on everything from product/collection development to the development of the brand's look and visual language. However, compared to the international market, this still happens too infrequently.

5) What tips do you have for young talents and newcomers to the industry? Where is the best place to start?

The initial assistant phase shouldn't be underestimated. In my experience, this phase could be longer, but compared to international productions, this position is undervalued in the German market and therefore, unfortunately, always poorly compensated.

Stylists often start their own jobs and the corresponding expectations too early and often cannot sustain this long enough to reach the appropriate level of their own visual language, but also of their network.

Working with an agency that guides you through the initial setup phase can, of course, accelerate the process and is often significant for the next steps as a freelance stylist and make-up artist.

6) What is Collective Mindset?

For example, since 2023 I have been an ambassador for the Sheltersuit Foundation from the Netherlands, which is committed to helping homeless people worldwide. We support them with all profits from our shop and the sales of my book.

Under the Collective Mindset unit, I will be implementing further projects with our inner circle and network in the future, stay tuned!
