The first edition of RAUM.Berlin , a new immersive presentation format initiated by the Fashion Council Germany and powered by eBay, made a compelling debut during the SS26 edition of Berlin Fashion Week. From July 1st to 3rd, 2025, RAUM.Berlin opened up new perspectives on fashion at Kranzler X by combining innovative design and circular thinking. Over the three days, nine visionary designers, three each day, presented their collections in individually designed spaces, creating immersive environments. The format broke down the traditional boundaries of fashion presentation, offering space for storytelling, experimentation, and creative expression. Each of the three days began with an opening reception from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM, after which the exhibition was open to the public.

DAY 1 - DAGGER, IDEN & JULIAN ZIGERLI

On the first day, the presentations by DAGGER, IDEN, and JULIAN ZIGERLI explored the influences of the underground and subcultural identities. With a raw aesthetic, dystopian visions, and playful rebellion, the designers reinterpreted the codes of youth, gender, and identity. DAGGER brought a raw energy to Kranzler X with VHS loops reflecting founder Luke Rainey's skateboarding youth in Northern Ireland. IDEN , the label of founder Moritz Iden, fused dystopian design with post-digital aesthetics and explored gender-neutral, technology-driven fashion. Zurich-based JULIAN ZIGERLI combined printmaking, emotion, and humor in a paper installation created in collaboration with artist Andi Fischer.

DAY 2 - JISOO BAIK, KASIA KUCHARSKA & LADO BOKUCHAVA

On the second day, the collections by JISOO BAIK, KASIA KUCHARSKA, and LADO BOKUCHAVA focused on material storytelling and the transformation of the body. Through their designs, the designers explored fashion as a medium for narratives, identity, and emotions. French designer JISOO BAIK, who has dressed Björk and Ariana Grande, presented “Soft Armor”: sculptural silhouettes that explore strength and vulnerability through couture abstraction. KASIA KUCHARSKA , winner of the FCG/VOGUE Fashion Fund 2024, redefines tailoring with latex and 3D processes, challenging the static nature of traditional design. LADO BOKUCHAVA from Tbilisi, Georgia, together with artist Ivana Vladislava, united two perspectives on style and provocation, driven by curiosity, observation, and the desire to empower the wearer with their own identity.

DAY 3 - AVENIR, PLNGNS & ROUGH

On the third day, the focus shifted to the future of fashion through circular economy principles and cultural remixing, showcasing the collections of AVENIR, PLNGNS, and ROUGH. From upcycling to references to cultural heritage, the designers embraced new materials, local production, and a hybrid aesthetic as tools for sustainable innovation. AVENIR focuses on a radical circular economy, presenting garments made from surplus materials, produced on demand, locally, and with zero waste. PLNGNS , based in Kyiv, Ukraine, transforms primarily used shoes into avant-garde statements by employing a closed-loop system that combines craftsmanship and environmental awareness. At ROUGH, Greek heritage merges with the Berlin streetwear scene, reinterpreting traditional lace in bold, nostalgic silhouettes previously worn by Lewis Hamilton and Tyga.

Over all three days, the exhibiting designers offered an impressive insight into the evolving fashion landscape – rooted in subculture, experimental, and focused on a sustainable future. From Berlin to Paris to Tbilisi, their work reflected a shared commitment to rethinking materials, identities, and the role of fashion in shaping culture.

Scott Lipinski, CEO of the FCG, explained: “ RAUM.Berlin creates a platform for talent to present their visions and creations beyond the traditional catwalks. The format encourages new perspectives and highlights the diversity and innovation in fashion. With this open-to-public event, the Fashion Council Germany continues its mission to support emerging designers and create meaningful connections between the fashion industry and the wider Berlin community.”

Mandy Krüger, Head of Fashion at eBay, added: “Berlin stands for new forms of creative expression – beyond the traditional catwalks. The format creates space for experimentation and dialogue, and platforms like this play an important role in driving the industry forward. In addition to supporting emerging designers, our focus was on initiating conversations about the circular economy – a topic that is crucial for the future of fashion.”

In addition to the designer showcases, eBay presented a Pre-Loved Exhibition , curated by stylist, fashion editor and art director Christian Stemmler, which highlighted the creative and circular potential of secondhand fashion.

The talk show “METAMORPHOSIS – dialogues about change,” powered by eBay, took place in the afternoon and brought together opinion leaders from the fashion and media industries. The eBay Networking Lounge was open all day, transforming Kranzler X into a space for exchanging ideas on circularity, digital design, and diversity.
