As part of FASHION X CRAFT, which the Fashion Council Germany was able to realize for the second time in partnership with the Swarovski Foundation and The Prince's Foundation, this year's participants took part in an inspiring three-week workshop at Highgrove Gardens in Gloucestershire, England. During these three weeks, they worked side by side with leading artisans to explore a variety of different materials, processes and processing techniques.

This year's participants include the designers: Ronja Beckmann (Munich University of Applied Sciences), Sofia Hermens Fernandez (Royal Academy of Fine Arts Antwerp), Nari Haase (Burg Giebichenstein, Halle Art Academy), Tatjana Haupt (Institut Francais de la Mode), Chelsea Jean Lamm (AMD) and Nanyi Li (Burg Giebichenstein, Halle Art Academy)

Among other things, the young designers worked with David Gates Furniture to explore wood and woodworking techniques and apply them in creative ways to their own fashion design portfolios. They also learned about different weaving techniques and materials such as rushes, straw, reeds and willow in a week-long workshop with Studio Amos. They also worked with Esmet Walker, a traditional lime plasterer and graduate of The Prince's Foundation who restores historic buildings in England and Wales.
