ABOUT THE INITIATIVE
The Munich Fashion Award is aimed at up-and-coming fashion and accessory designers in Europe who have already successfully established themselves with their sustainable collections and products and can demonstrate positive market experience.

As a partner for competition organization, the Fashion Council Germany supports the Munich Fashion Award, which honors European fashion design talents with sustainable concepts, gives them greater visibility and gives the award winners access to these solutions in order to contribute to a more sustainable and fairer fashion system.
The Munich Fashion Award honors winners in the AESTHETIC award category. Both award categories are linked by the integration of sustainability dimensions. These in turn are divided into two aesthetic categories (awarded by the City of Munich):
AESTHETIC (winners each, application start: December)
READY-TO-WEAR-FASHION (25.000 € / 10.000 € / 5.000 €)
ACCESSORIES (10.000 € / 5.000€ / 3.000 €)
In order to ensure the professional quality, credibility and effectiveness of the award, the City of Munich is setting up two management levels: the Munich Fashion Award Advisory Board and a jury.
The Munich Fashion Award Advisory Board is made up of leading international experts from the fields of fashion, sustainability and technology. The Board's task is to ensure the transparency and independence of the award. In addition, it advises the City of Munich on the strategic direction of the award, appoints the jury and is the patron of the award.
