Berlin, 21.03.2024: The Fashion Council Germany is launching the FCG FUTURE MINDS SCHOLARSHIP initiative via its re.FASHION ACADEMY education platform, thereby expanding its existing portfolio of education programmes. The programme aims to support and train future-oriented design and business talent from Germany. The first edition of the programme is being initiated in cooperation with the international university Istituto Marangoni as the FCG FUTURE MINDS SCHOLARSHIP by ISTITUTO MARANGONI. Two scholarships will be awarded for one Master's programme each: at the Istituto Marangoni in London for Sustainable Fashion & Systems and at the Istituto Marangoni in Milan for Fashion Business & Entrepreneurship.
The Fashion Council Germany has set itself the task of supporting and promoting young talents in various phases of their careers. With the re.FASHION ACADEMY, a platform was initiated that is supplemented by the FCG FUTURE MINDS SCHOLARSHIP and thus also offers the opportunity for physical further training beyond the seminars, masterclasses and webinars offered.
Applications are open to bachelor's graduates based in Germany who would like to actively shape the future of the fashion industry in the areas of sustainable fashion design, start-ups or social enterprises. Applicants' profiles should be characterised by values and interests such as creativity, innovation, sustainability, passion and inclusive thinking.
An expert jury will select the winners of the two scholarships, which will be announced in June 2024. The jury is made up of renowned industry experts. For Milan: Diana Marian Murek (Director of Education, Istituto Marangoni Milano), Manuela Kampp-Wirtz (Co-CEO, BurdaVerlag), Nadja Swarovski (President, Fashion Council Germany), Scott Lipinski (CEO, Fashion Council Germany) and William Fan (Fashion Designer). For London: Christiane Arp (Chairwoman, Fashion Council Germany), Janina Lin Otto (entrepreneur and founder), Kerstin Weng (Head of Editorial Content, Vogue Germany), Noorin Khamisani (Programme Leader for Postgraduate Fashion) and Kirsty Keoghan (General Manager Global Fashion, eBay).
The FCG FUTURE MINDS SCHOLARSHIP by ISTITUTO MARANGONI is endowed with two Master's scholarships worth 30,000 euros each, a re.FASHION ACADEMY voucher worth 500 euros each and various communication services on the channels of the FCG and Istituto Marangoni. The Master's programme starts in October 2024 and runs until spring 2026.
Applications for the two scholarships are possible from now until 21 April 2024 via the Istituto Marangoni website. Details on the conditions of participation at.
Fashion Council Germany member Waridi Schrobsdorff acted as co-initiator of the project.
