Berlin Fashion Week has undergone some fundamental changes since its debut in 2007. What has been the most significant transformation of the Berlin Fashion Week format for you to date?

I only started to really get interested in fashion relatively late, in my early 20s. We only founded our brand in 2021 and only since then have I been able to gain real insights into the Berlin fashion scene, including Berlin Fashion Week. But I really appreciate that the Fashion Council Germany has such a strong position and offers valuable support to fashion brands in Berlin. I already have the feeling that a breath of fresh air is coming into Berlin Fashion Week alongside the established Berlin brands. And I am incredibly grateful to be part of this new movement.

Since last season, Berlin Fashion Week has been undergoing a change of heart: the focus is on innovative formats, young designers and sustainable concepts. How do you assess this positive change for Berlin Fashion Week in an international comparison?

I believe that the Berlin fashion scene is still relatively small compared to other cities. But it is also not so shaped by long-established structures. I think that is a clear advantage, as it means there is room for fundamental and profound changes. If Berlin brands now fill this space with life, this could be extremely exciting, as it offers the opportunity to develop and implement innovative concepts.

What are you most looking forward to at the upcoming Berlin Fashion Week?

I am really looking forward to seeing the work of the other designers and finding out what they have created. I think there is a lot of room for creativity in Berlin at the moment and I am really excited to see what exciting shows there will be this year. Of course, I am also excited about our own show and how it will go. I hope that we will improve compared to the last show and that the guests can enjoy our show.

Haderlump is part of "Berlin Contemporary" this season and will present its new collection on Thursday, July 13, 2022, at 8 p.m. in the Wilhelm Hallen. More about "Berlin Contemporary" and Berlin Fashion Week at the following link.

ABOUT Haderlump

Haderlump is a young Berlin fashion label. The capital has defined us since the beginning - and also the urban look of their clothing. They consistently produce sustainably manufactured fashion that is good for the environment and meets their own aesthetic standards. And they think "eco" is better when it is not displayed.
