The winners of the second edition of the FCG FUTURE MINDS SCHOLARSHIP by Istituto Marangoni have been chosen: Lea Franke and Chantal Wehran!
Last December, the Fashion Council Germany (FCG) launched the second round of the FCG FUTURE MINDS SCHOLARSHIP in collaboration with the renowned Istituto Marangoni (IM). As part of this scholarship program, two scholarships are awarded for Master's programs at Istituto Marangoni in Milan and London. After receiving numerous high-quality applications, a jury of experts has now selected the two winners. Lea Franke was awarded the Master's program in Fashion Start-Up at IM Milan, while Chantal Wehran received the scholarship for the Master's program in Fashion Design at IM London.
The competition was launched via the FCG education platform re.FASHION ACADEMY. and thus expands The Fashion Council Germany's commitment to young design talents and entrepreneurs. With the master's scholarships, each worth €30,000, the two winners will acquire both theoretical and practical knowledge, thus creating an essential foundation for their future careers in the fashion industry. They will also receive additional training opportunities through an educational voucher from the re.FASHION ACADEMY . each worth 500 euros.
Lea Franke emphasizes: “I am looking forward to further developing my ideas at the Istituto Marangoni and to learning about new perspectives in the fashion industry in Milan. I thank the Fashion Council Germany for this opportunity!”
Chantal Wehran adds: “I am looking forward to delving even deeper into my craft at Istituto Marangoni London, growing and working on new narratives about fashion and identity.”
The two winners were selected primarily for their progressive visions regarding sustainability, innovation, inclusion, and creativity. They were evaluated by a high-caliber jury of industry experts. For London, the jury consisted of Christiane Arp (FCG), Kerstin Weng (Vogue Germany), Marie Lueder (LUEDER), Noorin Khamisani (Istituto Marangoni), and Roel de Cooman (haebmau.ATELIER). For Milan, the jury comprised Diana Murek (Istituto Marangoni), Julius Weissenborn (Haderlump), Mandy Krüger (eBay Germany), and Scott Lipinski (FCG).
The two winners will be supported by the FCG throughout their studies and will receive an individual showcase at the end of their degree.
