Kasia Kucharska is the winner of the first FCG/VOGUE Germany Fashion Fund and presented her first own fashion show yesterday as part of Berlin Fashion Week.
Together with VOGUE Germany , we launched the FCG/VOGUE Germany Fashion Fund, a competition to promote emerging design talent. This initiative was implemented in Germany for the first time this year and has already been established by Condé Nast in the USA, the UK, China, and Spain. Past winners include RICHARD QUINN (2022), 16ARLINGTON (2023), and Melitta Baumeister (2023). The competition was announced during the official Berlin Fashion Week opening in February 2024 by Patrick Pendiuk (representing Kerstin Weng), Anita Gigovskaya (both from VOGUE Germany), and Scott Lipinski, CEO of the FCG.
On September 23, 2024, the winner was announced at the Vogue Forces of Fashion event: Kasia Kucharska .
Kasia Kucharska, who has made a name for herself with her striking creations in cast latex, focused on innovative craftsmanship for her debut collection at Berlin Fashion Week. Alongside blouses and shorts with dynamic ruffles, she presented dresses made from deconstructed sweaters, cardigans, and transparent mesh – all seamless, held together by functional latex ornaments.
About the collection
"This Fall/Winter 2025 collection marks a pivotal moment in our work. At its core, our methodology remains unchanged: to design clothing that is meant to transform a woman's sense of self—and, in doing so, her appearance. With this runway collection, we return to our roots, exploring traditional craftsmanship. We have created dresses without any seams, made and joined exclusively with latex as a functional ornament. By deconstructing old, classic knit sweaters, we transform everyday wear into unique, irrational showpieces—an escape into a better world. We present a range of clothing styles that transcend the transformation of a utilitarian wardrobe into contemporary, opulent jewelry. The idea of sophistication and the structures that make up a garment are broken down into layers and playfully reinterpreted—a clever twist on what it means to be confident and sexy today. These layers are translated and redrawn with our latex lace to create something that is both familiar and never before seen. It is a reinterpretation of clothing made from From today's perspective, a wardrobe of unreal realism."
Kasia Kucharska is a Berlin-based brand that drives contemporary innovation through historical references.
" The reinvention of traditional, artisanal, and technology-driven manufacturing techniques is at the heart of our designs. By focusing on new ways of producing garments and paying particular attention to sustainable and conscious production techniques, we are pushing the boundaries of conventional fashion design. "
