Where does the catwalk end, where does the exhibition begin? RAUM.Berlin answers this question in the most creative way imaginable: As a cross-genre format of the Fashion Council Germany in cooperation with the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy, the multi-day event as part of Berlin Fashion Week moves between traditional fashion show and interactive installation.

Last season, selected designers had the opportunity to push the boundaries of fashion staging, explore new forms of presentation, and showcase themselves and their collections to industry professionals and the public in a unique way. Following a successful first edition, RAUM.Berlin will enter its second round during the upcoming Berlin Fashion Week (January 30-2, 2026) – on a larger scale and, for the first time, supported by the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy.

Twelve brands, twelve collections, four days – each day of the event showcases the work of three brands in an exclusive location. The focus is clearly on the designers' visions, who present their creations through installations, performances, or other interactive elements. RAUM.Berlin – initially open to the international trade audience of Fashion Week and subsequently to the public – offers designers the opportunity to engage in direct dialogue with their audience.

RAUM.Berlin aligns perfectly with the overarching goal of the Fashion Council Germany to showcase fashion as both a cultural and economic asset. Participating brands can present their work in a new and unique context while simultaneously establishing and strengthening important contacts with representatives from international media and stores. The format thus bridges the gap between creativity and economic viability – and I am delighted that we have secured the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy as a funding partner for the second edition of our initiative. Together, we are pursuing the goal of strengthening Germany as a fashion hub and increasing the visibility of its key players, ” said Scott Lipinski, CEO of the Fashion Council Germany.

RAUM.Berlin is designed as a competition: Designers can submit their applications from now until December 17th. All brands with a production facility in Germany that do not plan any further participation in Berlin Fashion Week and wish to present at least ten designs as part of RAUM.Berlin are invited to participate. The competition is aimed at brands with fewer than 30 employees and a focus on sustainable fashion. The winners will be selected by a renowned jury and announced in early January 2026.
