The Fashion Council Germany & VOGUE Germany's funding competition presents design talents at Der Berliner Salon
The FCG/VOGUE Fashion Fund competition , jointly initiated by the Fashion Council Germany and VOGUE Germany, has selected its finalists.
At a celebratory cocktail reception in the James-Simon-Galerie on Monday afternoon, the seven labels that will now enter the second selection phase were announced: Kasia Kucharska , Lou de Bètoly ,LUEDER ,NAMILIA , Richert Beil , SF1OG and Sia Arnika .
During Berlin Fashion Week in July 2024, the creations of emerging designers will be exhibited at Der Berliner Salon in the iconic Bode Museum. The group exhibition, organized by the Berlin agency NOWADAYS, is curated by Managing Director Marcus Kurz and FCG Chairwoman Christiane Arp. The FCG/VOGUE Fashion Fund aims to support young design talents with a particularly innovative and creative approach and to guide them on their path into the industry.
Christiane Arp, Chairwoman of the Fashion Council Germany , emphasizes: “We received many outstanding applications, which once again demonstrated the high caliber of designers based in Germany and their ability to compete internationally. For this reason, selecting the finalists was not easy for me and the jury. However, I am convinced that we have chosen the seven best and that we will crown a worthy first FCG/VOGUE Fashion Fund winner in September.”
The seven finalists were presented to industry professionals at the official opening of Der Berliner Salon. In the group exhibition, each designer is showcasing two looks from their collections. The exhibition is open to the public until Sunday, July 7th. The finalists were selected by a distinguished jury of experts following a multi-week application process. The second selection phase now begins, during which they must submit further documents, including a presentation video with a business plan and, optionally, a collection concept. The winner will be announced at an event in Berlin in September 2024.
Scott Lipinski, CEO of the Fashion Council Germany: “ With the exhibition of the seven finalists at the Berlin Salon, we are building on the successful partnership of recent seasons. We are also delighted to once again offer participants in one of our initiatives a platform for the July edition. The renowned Berlin Salon exhibition provides the perfect setting and, thanks to the curatorial work of Christiane Arp, strengthens the connection between the two institutions.”
